Hot car deal: Peugeot E-208 with all the bells and whistles for only £226pm
Our deal for July 2nd isn’t just any run-of-the-mill EV; it’s the stylish Peugeot E-208 in top-spec GT trim
Whether you’re a seasoned EV driver or you’re looking to dip your toe in the electric car world for the first time, the Peugeot E-208 is one the best small electric cars on sale today. Much of its appeal lies in just how similar it is to the petrol-powered 208; you get the same chic looks, quirky cabin and surefooted driving experience, but with nippier performance and lower running costs.
Buy privately, however, and the E-208 can look quite pricey – it’s over £10,000 more than an equivalent petrol 208. That’s where a leasing deal like today’s offer from VIP Gateway comes in. Sure, you’ll still be paying a bit more than you would for a regular 208, but monthly payments of £226.04 a month are still competitive for a supermini of this quality, let alone an electric one.
What’s more, this deal nets you the top-of-the-range Peugeot E-208 in GT trim, a car with a sticker price of over £35,000. On top of the base model’s already generous kit list, you get a host of extra features, including a 10-inch 3D digital instrument display, a reversing camera, interior ambient lighting, 17-inch alloy wheels and full LED headlights. The car in this deal also gets the higher-spec battery pack; the 51kWh unit is good for up to 248 miles of range and can be topped up from 20 to 80% in around 25 minutes.
That battery is connected to a 154bhp electric motor shared with the bigger Peugeot E-308. It’s the quickest model in the 208 range as a result, feeling lively from a standstill – 0-62mph is dispatched in 8.2 seconds – and more than capable of cruising at motorway speeds. The MINI Cooper E offers more fun through the corners, but we don’t think that’ll make a great deal of difference to most drivers – you won’t find the MINI at this price either.
