Jaguar F-Type convertible - Interior & comfort
Optional adaptive dampers improve Jaguar F-Type ride quality
As well as being enjoyable to drive, the Jaguar F-Type is actually remarkably comfortable on the move. The entry-level 2.0-litre and first V6 model have a simple sports suspension setup, but the V6 R-Dynamic, 400 Sport, V8 R and SVR all get adaptive dampers as standard. The result is a setup that can be fine-tuned to your taste – and one that soaks up lumps and bumps in the road with ease.
Jaguar F-Type Convertible dashboard
It would be a real shame if a car as handsome as the F-Type should have a disappointing interior, and fortunately the sporty Jaguar is as attractive on the inside as out.
The dashboard has an appealing, swooping design, and is laid out in a manner that’s easy to use, particularly important if you’re travelling at speed. The rest of the interior is beautifully made, with high-quality materials and top-notch build quality, while the supportive leather seats make the F-Type a great place to sit when covering long distances.
Equipment
All F-Types get a sports exhaust, alloy wheels that are at least 18 inches in size and full LED headlights. Inside you’ll find a leather steering wheel and cruise control as standard – as well as an eight-inch colour Touch Pro touchscreen display. This was updated as part of a raft of improvements in 2017 and is now far better presented – but the slick new software is rather let down by the hardware. The screen resolution is less crisp than its rivals and operating sat nav, DAB radio or Bluetooth is rather fiddly on the move.
The list of equipment that comes with your F-Type pales in comparison with the length of the options list, however.
Options
The upgrades you can choose when you buy an F-Type are too numerous to itemise but they include brake upgrades, bigger wheels and an active exhaust system.
Many of the optional extras for the Jaguar F-Type are body styling packages. The Black Design Package is the most expensive, comprising body-colour extended side sills and an aerodynamic front spoiler, plus a gloss black finish for the grille surround, side vents and roll bars.
A Visibility Pack includes a heated front windscreen, bi-xenon headlights with LED blade daytime running lights and auto-dipping headlights. The Climate Pack includes a heated front windscreen, heated seats and a heated steering wheel, plus climate control in place of air-conditioning.
A Seat Memory Pack is also available, providing power-folding door mirrors, powered front seats, a power-adjustable steering column and position memory for the seats and steering wheel.
There’s also a choice of two excellent Meridian stereos, with either 380w or 770w outputs.
