For a car billed as a coupe, the Mercedes S-Class is actually very practical
The S-Class Coupe is a big car by the standards of other two-door models, but its grand scale is justified by the spacious accommodation it offers. Allied to a big boot, this is one grand touring coupe you really can use every day.

As you might expect from its long doors, the S-Class Coupe offers plenty of space for front-seat occupants. The front seats power-adjust in every direction you can imagine, and all the dials, switches and buttons are within easy reach.
Need to carry a couple of friends? Well, unlike in the Mercedes CL-Class that came before the current S-Class Coupe, there's generous space for two adults in the rear. In fact, it's more akin to a normal saloon car than a coupe – sitting on a shorter wheelbase than the saloon only brings space down from first-class to business-class level. Getting in might be a little trickier, as even though the front seats slide forward electrically to aid entry, it's still a bit of a squeeze, while those big doors can be inconvenient in tight parking spaces.
All cars come with a huge panoramic sunroof, which covers most of the roof, as standard. A recess means it doesn't eat into rear headroom like it does on some other saloon cars, SUVs and MPVs.
Boot space
Boot space is similar to rear-seat space – decent, but some way off the saloon for outright carrying capacity. You get 400 litres, which is more than an average family hatchback like a VW Golf or Ford Focus offers. That means you'll be able to squeeze in two sets of golf clubs, or enough bags for shopping trip or a few days away.
