Interior quality has come on leaps and bounds in the Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer
This is an area where the Astra Sports Tourer really has improved. Not only does everything feel more upmarket in this model than in its predecessor, but it’s also on par with rivals like the Ford Focus Estate, Kia Ceed Sportwagon and Toyota Corolla Touring Sports when it comes to design and the material quality.
You’ll also find the driving position excellent and the seats nice and comfortable, with plenty of adjustment for the driver’s seat and a steering wheel that can be adjusted for both reach and rake, meaning it’s easily adaptable for any size of driver.

The dashboard is very well designed and built using high-quality materials. Everything is within easy reach and the Intellilink touchscreen-operated infotainment system is clear and easy-to-use, too. It’s a very simple design, with few buttons and knobs cluttering the dash, while it looks smart and well appointed.
The instrument cluster, too, is clear and easy to read, while there’s an extra small screen in between the speedometer and rev counter that displays vital information.
Equipment
Whichever model of Astra you go for, you won’t find it wanting for equipment. All versions come with a seven-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, DAB digital radio, USB ports, air-conditioning, cruise control and electric front windows.
Even the entry-level SE model gets 16-inch alloy wheels, chrome exterior detailing, and LED daytime running lights, plus all Astra models have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto too.
Business Edition Nav cars get sat nav with European mapping, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors and rear privacy glass. The range-topping SRi Nav model gets sporty 17-inch alloys, front sports seats, Vauxhall’s driving assistance pack that includes a front camera system, and LED headlights with automatic lighting control.
Options
Vauxhall’s Connect e-CALL emergency assistance service is a £455 option on all models, while front and rear parking sensors cost £480. The Climate pack adds useful features like a heated windscreen and steering wheel, heated front seats and electronic climate control for £660. You might want to go for the spare wheel – a £110 option – instead of the standard emergency puncture repair kit.
