Skoda Enyaq gets a luxurious edge with L&K trim level

Skoda applies its swanky trim level to the Enyaq electric SUV, bringing unique exterior and interior upgrades

  • 345 miles of range
  • Long list of standard equipment
  • Priced from just over £51k

Fresh from its recent upgrades for the 2024 model year, the Skoda Enyaq gains even more allure with the introduction of the new L&K trim. Designed to cater for customers seeking a touch of luxury in their electric SUV, this new model brings unique interior and exterior design enhancements, as well as features that would normally cost extra on regular Enyaq models.

What’s included with the Skoda Enyaq L&K?

Luxury is the theme for the L&K model, those letters standing for Václav Laurin and Václav Klement, two early pioneers in the automobile manufacturing industry whose company would evolve into the Skoda we know today. We’ve seen the name applied to other Skoda models in recent years, including the Superb and the Kodiaq, so it's no surprise that the Czech manufacturer has applied the same treatment to the Enyaq.

Skoda offers the Enyaq with either 54kWh or 77kWh batteries, but the L&K model is only available with the larger of the two. The battery powers a 282bhp electric motor driving the rear wheels, giving the electric SUV enough juice to complete 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds. Once the battery starts to run low, it can be topped up via a rapid charger at speeds of up to 135kW, enabling a 10-80% charge in 28 minutes.

The cabin is where you’ll find the biggest changes over the regular Enyaq models. Skoda will offer two “bespoke Design Selections” for the interior, essentially offering customers a choice between black or beige leather upholstery. Regardless of which one you choose, both front seats come with heating, ventilation and a massage function, all of which are controlled through the car’s infotainment system.

Rear passengers don’t miss out on all the fun though – seat heating keeps occupants in the second row toasty as well. Other kit fitted as standard to the L&K model includes a heated windscreen, head-up display and an upgraded sound system. There are even ‘Laurin and Klement’ logos stitched into the headrests for that added drop of poshness.

Has anything changed on the outside of the Enyaq L&K?

There’s less to report for exterior changes, other than a unique grey paint colour for the wing mirrors and front and rear bumper trims, in place of the usual black. There’s a new 20-inch wheel design that will only be available for the L&K model (21-inch wheels are optional), and a unique ‘Laurin and Klement’ badge proudly adorning the front wings. Privacy glass, LED matrix headlights and the illuminating ‘Crystal Face’ grille are also fitted as standard with the L&K model.

How much will it cost and when can I order one?

Skoda has announced a starting price of £51,340 for the Enyaq L&K SUV and £53,240 for the coupe variant. Whilst this is over £14,000 more than the entry-level Enyaq, it isn’t actually the most expensive on offer, despite the luxurious edge. That honour is reserved for the Enyaq vRS, the sporty version of the electric SUV, which starts at around £2,000 more than the L&K.

Order books open from 10 January, with first customer deliveries expected later in the year.

What does this mean for car buyers?

Skoda has long been the go-to brand for reliable motoring on a budget, with affordability and dependability taking precedence over opulent interiors. The L&K badge that Skoda has recently rolled out across its range aims to change that, providing a new air of luxury to the brand’s top models. Although your £51,000 won’t get you behind the wheel of a Rolls-Royce competitor, the Enyaq L&K should provide some extra touches of luxury for those who find the regular Enyaq a bit too plain.
