Skoda Yeti Laurin and Klement SUV announced
Skoda has announced that it is to launch a new range-topper for its Yeti SUV, the Laurin and Klement.
The ‘Laurin and Klement’ model, named after Václav Laurin and Václav Klement, who started the Skoda company in 1895, is available to order in the UK now.
The top-of-the-range car features the same technical specification and features as the Yeti Elegance, but includes more than £4,000-worth of extras for just £2,000 more on the list price.
The Yeti Laurin & Klement is available only as a four-wheel-drive model and comes with a choice of three engines starting with a 1.8-litre TSI with 157bhp, which is the basic model, a 2.0-litre TDI with 138bhp and a DSG gearbox and a 2.0-litre TDI 167bhp.
The 138bhp and 170bhp engines are both fairly frugal, managing a combined effort of 47 miles per gallon.
Prices start at £19,841 and rise to the top-spec model, which costs £26,400. The Yeti Laurin and Klement can also be specified with such luxuries as leather seats, a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and piano-black wood inlays, as well as panoramic sunroof, sat-nav with a DAB digital radio, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
